Named WWII Japanese Army Officer Visor Cap

The cap is constructed of a high quality ribbed olive brown wool with a red wool cap band and piping. The body of the cap show a few very small scattered holes, none of which is particularly noticeable or distracting. The surface of the leather visor exhibits age crazing and a surface crack. The leather chin strap is secured with officer’s gilt cherry blossom side buttons. The interior sweatband shows cracks from wear but it is intact. The black silken lining remains present while being a bit loose in the front. The lining is embroidered with the name of the officer who wore the cap in kanji. The cap displays a fine saddle shape and it makes a very good appearance.
