Named WWII Front Seam Fixed Bale M1 Medic Helmet

The exterior green combat paint is approximately 75% intact, with some spots of surface rust. The paint on the interior of the helmet is intact and the interior shows no rust or damage. The front of the helmet has a red cross medical insignia painted on the shell, below which is the stylized painted name of “Eddy””. Below this is the full name, in military stencil, of “Feldman E-I”. The helmet liner is manufacturer marked by the Mine Safety Appliance Company. The liner interior shows wear and use but it is complete. The helmet fabric chin strap is present and shows a period repair where the fabric had become worn and was reinforced with additional stitching. The liner chin strap is present although it shows wear. A scarce example of a complete World War II M1 combat helmet, named to a soldier who was undoubtedly a medic.
