Named WWI Overseas U.S. Navy Aviator Tunic

$1,250.00

A very clean example of the uniform tunic of a U.S. Navy aviator or the First World War. The tunic displays the bullion embroidered wings of a Navy aviator and carries “USNR”gilt buttons. A gold tape overseas service chevron, is worn on the lower left sleeve. The shoulders have the rank insignia of an Ensign, while the tailor’s label in the interior pocket is named to “Ens. E.M. Hall”. There is a very tiny hole in the rear skirt of the tunic but, aside from that, the tunic is extremely clean, without holes, spots or stains.  Edwin Martin Hall held Naval Aviator Number 347, was born 3/31/93, graduated from Cornell University in 1916 and enlisted as a Landsman at Bay Shore New York 7/6/17 . He was trained as a Naval Aviator at MIT and Pensacola, graduating as a Heavier Than Air Aviator 2/13/18 and serving at the Naval Air Station at Killingholme UK.
