Named WWI German Trench Art Machine Gun Unit Shell Casing with Hohenzollern Eagle

The brass shell casing is approximately 9-1/8 inches tall. The casing bears the design of a Hohenzollern eagle above the design of the German machine gunner’s badge. The casing bears the unit designation of “M.G. Abt. 19” as well as the name of “Musketier Schaffer”. The base has markings which include the date of 1918. The shell casing exhibits an uncleaned patina.
