Named WWI Christmas 1914 Military Hospital Stein
The 1/2 liter porcelain stein is approximately 5 12 inches tall. The stein depicts a scene in which an Imperial German Army medic renders aid to an injured civilian while stretcher bears and a horse drawn ambulance appear in the background. Below the scene appears the statement “Edel sei der Mensch Hilfreich und gut” (Man is noble, helpful, and good). The lid has an Iron Cross in relief and is engraved with Christmas, 1914, at the hospital at Schloss Zinneberg. Maker marked on the bottom, with a nice eagle thumb lift. On the back of the stein is the name “Georg Goller”. The stein is in mint condition.
