Named WWI British Lieutenant Colonel DSO Recipient Cuff Rank Uniform Group

$2,650.00

The group is comprised of the uniform tunic, visor cap, Sam Browne belt, and boots, of Lieutenant Colonel Robert Amyatt Ray of the King’s Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment), whose many British and foreign decorations included the Distinguished Service Order. The tunic is named on the interior collar to “R.A. Ray”. The tunic displays the sewn ribbons of eight British and Foreign decorations, including the Distinguished Service Order and the World War I victory Medal with the “Mentioned in Dispatches” device. On the left sleeve is a wound chevron, while the right sleeve carries overseas service chevrons. The cuffs exhibit the rank of a Lieutenant Colonel with leather reinforced bottom sleeve edges. The uniform tunic shows some wear and use, but the tunic is exceptionally clean and it makes a very impressive appearance. The visor cap is marked to a Saville Row tailor, with Ray’s name written beneath the sweatband. The cap is the blue dress cap which was fitted with a brown combat cover. The cap, like the tunic, is in excellent condition. The tunic and cap are accompanied by Ray’s Sam Browne  belt and boots, both of which are in very fine condition. Included with the uniform group is accompanied by a booklet comprised of downloaded documents about Ray’s career that can be found on the website of the regimental museum of the King’s Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment), which is found on the internet at “kingsownmuseum.com”.
