Named WWI 71st Balloon Squadron Uniform Group

$1,250.00

The uniform tunic and overcoat of Eslie Godwin Perry of Iowa, who served in the Army Air Service as a member of the 71st Balloon Company. The tunic carries “U.S.” and Air Service collar disks and the 1917 dated contractor tag is still attached to the interior lining. The tunic has three small holes (one in the sleeve and two in the back), all of which are smaller than a pencil eraser. Both the tunic and the overcoat have 71st Balloon Squadron patches on the shoulder and two silver service stripes on the lower left sleeve. Godwin’s name is written on the interior lining of the overcoat, which also has the Philadelphia Quartermaster tag attached. Both the tunic and the overcoat are in excellent used condition.
