Named Tropical German Army Officer Field Belt & Buckle

The khaki web belt and officer buckle was introduced by the Army for use by officers in North Africa in early 1941. The belt features the standard army officer belt buckle with closed wing Heer eagle. The belt is marked as 100 cm in length. There is a manufacturer stamp clearly visible on the belt, dated 1941. The belt is in excellent condition and, in fact, shows relatively little evidence of having been worn, this consisting of indications of use on the leather tongue into which the buckle prongs are placed and an inked owners name “W. Holzmann”. The buckle has lost its paint on its face but retains about 60% paint on the reverse. A very impressive example of this very uncommon belt.
