Named Size 66 WWI German Camouflaged M1916 Combat Helmet by Eisenhütte Silesia
$1,200.00
The helmet was camouflaged with areas of dark green, red, and light brown, and with those areas being separated by wide black borders in accordance with the regulations of 1918. The colors of the camouflage pattern exhibit age toning. The exterior paint shows scuffs and abrasions consistent with use in the field. The liner is intact on the interior, with two of the “pillows” behind the leather tongues retaining their filling. Three of the six liner tops are torn and the leather liner tongues are dry but complete aside from the three torn tops. The drawstring is present. The chin strap is also present, being somewhat dry but intact. The rear interior rim has what appear to be a name and a unit written in the helmet which is not entirely legible. The interior of the helmet shell is marked “Si 66”, reflecting a size 66 shell manufactured by the firm of Eisenhütte Silesia of Paruschowitz Oberschlesien. Overall excellent field used condition.
