The Model 1902 United States Army officer sword has an overall length of approximately 35-1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 30 inches. The horn grip shows wear to the finish and chips to the edges as well as some insect damage.The sword has an etched blade with patriotic decorations, while the ricasso is marked “Horstmann, Phila”, and the blade has a central central panel identifying the sword’s owner as “Lt. Col. John Riley”. the blade is bright, with the scabbard exhibiting a dull and uncleaned patina. Overall very good condition.
