Named Mexican Border / WWI 29th Division Medals, Dog Tag and Patches Group
$395.00
The group is comprised of the medals and insignia of Edwin C. Scott, who served on the Mexican Border in 1916 and in France with the 29th Division in World War I. The items in the group are:
-Mexican Border Service Medal, full wrap brooch suspension, the medal being numbered “25595” on the edge. Interestingly, Scott reversed the medal on the suspension so that the reverse side, which is officially named to “Edwin C. Scott”, faces outward. The medal was also personalized by Scott with the engraving of the date of “1916” on the front side (which faces rearward since Scott reversed the medal). The group includes the ribbon bar for the medal.
-World War I Victory Medal with “France” bar. Full wrap brooch suspension.
-World War I State of New Jersey service medal, officially named on the reverse “Edwin C. Scott”.
-World War I service medal of the New Jersey State Council of the Junior Order of the United American Mechanics, engraved “E.C. Scott”.
-U.S. Army dog tag, named to “Edwin C. Scott”.
-Shoulder patches for the 29th Division and the Army of Occupation, both with scrapbook paper residue on the reverse.
-Two gold tape overseas service stripes as well as a red discharge stripe, and a gilt “U.S.” button.
Al of the items show signs of age but they are in overall excellent condition.
