Named Landsturm Battalion WWI Model 1916 “Gummimaske” Gas Mask with Canister

The canvas face mask is quite dry but it is intact. The lenses are without cracks or damage. All attachment straps appear to be intact. The filter exhibits wear to the field gray finish. The soldier’s name is written by hand on one strap, while there is also a name tag sewn to a strap which also identifies the owner as a member of a Landsturm Battalion. The gas mask is contained within its carrying canister, which lacks the closure latch and which shows paint loss and areas of surface rust.
