The wool covered body of the shako retains a fine shape while showing surface dust, but it is without holes or tracking. The leather top of the shako as well as the leather visor exhibit typical age crazing to the surfaces. The shako retains the lion head chin strap fasteners on each side, with an intact plume and an Imperial Austrian cockade on the front. The interior sweatband is intact, as is the silk lining, with the lining showing soiling and faint markings as well as bearing a handwritten name. Overall very good condition.
