Named Austrian Model 1917 Combat Helmet by Bruder Gottlieb u. Brauchbar Brunn

$1,650.00

The exterior Isonzo-braun paint is largely intact, showing typical spots and scuffs from wear in the field. The top of the helmet exterior bears an impressed designation of a “B” above numbers. All three of the liner pads are intact, with two of the pads retaining the filling in the “pillows” behind the pads. The drawstring is missing but the tops of the liner pad tongues are intact. The full fabric chin strap remains on the helmet. The rear visor bears a handwritten name which appears to be “Benk”. The interior side of the helmet has the impressed size designation of “66”, as well as the mark of “BGB”, reflecting production by the firm of Bruder Gottlieb u. Brauchbar of Brunn. Overall an excellent example of a First World War Austrian M17 combat helmet which makes a very fine appearance.
