Named 1942 Uniform of Army Generalintendant Otto Stoppler with Tunic and Trousers
$8,750.00
Otto Stoppler was promoted to the rank of Generlintendant on October 1, 1939, only a month after the beginning of the war in Europe. The uniform is a high quality, tailored example that is named to Stoppler on labels which are present on the tunic’s interior dagger hanger and in the trousers, with both labels bearing matching order numbers and dates. The uniform was tailored in Dresden. The tunic is exceptionally clean, showing only signs of light wear. The gold bullion collar tabs and breast eagle exhibit mild age toning. The left side of the tunic has nine loops for the wear of four badges or medals. On the upper left breast are five loops for the wear of a long ribbon or medal bar. The celluloid collar liner is in place inside of the tunic collar. The uniform trousers bear the distinctive red stripes of a German Army General and they are, like the tunic, very clean, and they show only signs of light wear. A metal ring is sewn above the watch pocket for wear of a watch chain. Overall the uniform makes an excellent appearance and it is very impressive. There were only about 50 Admin Generals in the German Army.
