Montgomeryshire Yeomanry Cavalry Helmet

Circa 1900 cavalry helmet of the Welsh Montgomeryshire Yeomanry. The silver metal helmet was apparently given a coat of lacquer long ago, and that has now toned over the years to a mellow light golden color. In spots where the lacquer has worn away the original silver color of the helmet is visible. The helmet has a removable black horsehair plume who’s interior nut is missing. The interlinking chin strap has only a small section of its leather backing remaining. The liner is no longer present.
