Model 1938 German Paratrooper Helmet

The exterior field gray paint on this paratrooper helmet would rate as approximately 90% intact. The rear of the helmet skirt is stamped “ckl” above the number “4267”, which would indicate manufacture in 1944. The helmet has slotted aluminum bolts consistent with that period of production, and so too the absence of any decal dates the helmet to that period of the war. The interior leather liner and “Y” harness chin strap assembly are complete and intact. This helmet shows use and wear but it is in overall very good condition, and only one look at the helmet leaves no doubt that this one was worn in the field by a German paratrooper.
