Model 1916 Combat Helmet with Stirnpanzer Armor Plate

$2,975.00

A Model 1916 German Army combat helmet, marked on the interior as “ET66”, indicating a size 66 shell manufactured by Eisenhuttenwerke in Thale. The helmet has its original leather liner but is lacking the chin strap. The exterior field gray paint is approximately 70% intact. The front of the helmet carries the “Stirnpanzer” armor brown plate that was introduced in 1917 and was associated with snipers, machine gunners, and others whose duties in the front lines required exposure of the head. The field gray paint on the armor plate is approximately 20% intact. The plate is quite heavy and has a heavy leather attachment strap, with the strap being an old replacement. Overall very good field used condition.
