Model 1915 Jaeger Zu Pferde Enlisted Ranks Helmet

A fine example of the Model 1915 Prussian Jaeger Zu Pferde Enlisted Ranks Helmet. The helmet body is blued steel with gray oxidized steel fittings and a removable spike. The national and Prussian state cockades are present. The leather chin strap is present, as is the liner. The edge of the rear rim is stamped “55”. The helmet shows the typical signs of age and use, with some light surface rust to the base of the spike and the helmet plate. There is a crease in the helmet shell on the top of the right rear area that is about 1 1/2 inches long. Some of the panels of the leather liner are missing their tips. The helmet is in very good condition.
