Model 1913 U.S. Army Cavalry Sword by Springfield Armory Dated 1913

The so-called “Patton Sword” has a blade that is generally quite bright, showing some typical spots, scratches and surface grime. The ricasso bears the Springfield Armory mark and the date of 1913, while the opposite ricasso has the “U.S.” mark as well as the sword serial number. The guard and grip retain the original dark finish, with the bowl guard showing a shallow indentation on one side. The grip is without chips or cracks. The scabbard is canvas over wood, showing spots and soiling. The metal throat and drag exhibit a largely intact finish while showing some wear and age. Overall very good condition.
