Model 1889 Imperial Wurttemberg Officer Sword by Carl Eickhorn

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 38 inches, with a blade length of approximately 30 inches. The blade has a matte finish that is very clean beneath a film of surface grime. The ricasso bears the early Carl Eickhorn trademark of back-to-back squirrels with the “C.E.” designation. The leather washer is present at the top of the ricasso. The celluloid covered grip is without chips or cracks and remains tightly triple wrapped with brass wire. The sword has a folding pierced guard with the Wurttemberg crest. The leather finger loop remains intact at the interior base of the grip. The guard, knuckle bow, and pommel all exhibit a dark and uncleaned patina. The scabbard shows chips and wear to the gloss black paint, with the paint being approximately 70 percent intact. Overall very good condition.
