Metal Ersatz Prussian EM/NCO Pickelhaube from the Van der Heyden Factory in Berlin – Excellent Condition

The helmet is metal construction with gilt brass wappen front plate. The national and Prussian colors cockades are in place on the sides, with a leather chin strap across the front visor. The spike is not removable. The full leather liner is intact, with drawstring being present and an intact closure snap on the rear tongues. In the interior dome above and behind the liner is a circular felt pad to cushion the helmet.  This is not stitched to the liner or glued in place, and beneath this pad is a painted “8”, indicating a size “58” helmet. On the underside of the front visor is stenciled the designation of “R v. d. H Berlin Sch.”, indicating production by the Van der Heyden Factory in Berlin. The exterior of the helmet shows some scratches and relatively minor scuffs. Overall the helmet is in excellent condition and makes a very fine appearance.
