Luftwaffe Stag Grip Dress Bayonet by Robert Klaas with Brown Frog
$325.00
The blade is generally bright, showing runner marks, spots, and surface grime which includes what appear to be spots of old oil. The ricasso bears the “Kissing Cranes” mark of the Robert Klaas firm, with the leather washer in place at the top of the blade. The stag grip plates are a fine medium brown and they are without chips or cracks. The guard and the pommel display an uncleaned patina, with the pommel showing scratches and speckling, with small spots of plating loss. The rifle slot on the spine retains a golden wool insert. The scabbard has spots of paint loss. The brown leather frog exhibits age, but it remains supple and in good polish. The reverse side of the frog is manufacturer marked and dated 1938. The frog is also marked “Bekl. L. im L.G. IV”, indicating “Bekleidungs Lager der Luftgau IV”, or the “Clothing Warehouse of Luftgau IV”. Overall very good condition.
