Luftwaffe Officer Service Dagger by Richard Herder with Hangers, Belt Loop, and Portepee

The blade of the dagger is generally very bright, showing spots and scratches, but with visible crossgrain, and with the ricasso bearing the trademark of the firm of Richard Herder. The celluloid grip is dark orange, and it is tightly wrapped in twisted wire and the grip is without chips or cracks. The guard and the pommel exhibit fine detail, with the pommel having typical loss of the gilt finish to the swastikas on the pommel. The scabbard has an uncleaned patina with surface dirt. The scabbard rings show some wear to the details. The fabric hangers exhibit a bit of edge wear, and the velvet undersides demonstrate actual wear, but the hangers are complete and intact, with the hangers clip attached to a leather belt loop. The portepee has some wear to the cord, but it, too, is intact. Overall the dagger is in very good condition.
