Luftwaffe Forestry “Waffen-Loesche” Bayonet with Frog by Chromolit-Besteckfabrik (Arthur Wingen, Solingen)

The bayonet has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 13-1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 8-1/4 inches. On one side the ricasso bears the manufacturer mark of “Ch.A.W.”, reflecting production by the firm of “Chromolit-Besteckfabrik”, or Arthur Wingen of Solingen. The opposite side of the ricasso has the distributor name of “Waffen-Loesche”. The blade shows some spots and verdigris, but it is generally clean and it is without nicks, chips or active rust. The spine of the blade is marked with the letter “H”. The top of the blade retains the leather washer. The guard shows rust on the edges. The stag grip plates are nicely toned and without chips or damage. The scabbard shows the black paint being approximately 70 percent intact, with the greater portion of the loss being on the obverse. The brown leather frog has some scuffs but it is complete, intact and pliable. Overall very good condition.
