Long Dress Bayonet by Carl Eickhorn with Frog

The bayonet has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 15-3/4 inches. The blade shows some typical spots and scratches but overall it is generally bright. The ricasso bears the squirrel trademark of the Carl Eickhorn firm. A leather washer remains in place at the top of the blade. The black Bakelite grip plates are without chips or cracks. The guard and the pommel show an uncleaned patina, beneath which the plating appears to be largely intact. A red wool insert is present in the rifle slot. The black paint is mostly present on the scabbard. The black leather frog shows signs of age but it is complete and intact. Overall the bayonet is in very good to excellent condition.
