Late War M38 Luftwaffe Paratrooper Helmet Marked ckl68

This helmet surfaced here in Pennsylvania from the estate of a man who did house clean-outs and has never been in a collection. The exterior, slightly textured, blue gray paint is approximately 95% intact, with minor scratches and spots. The helmet reflects late war production in that is exhibits a more pronounced rim and the use of both vented aluminum bolts on the sides and solid aluminum bolts in the rear of the helmet. The interior shell is marked “ckl 68”, indicating a size 68 helmet shell manufactured by Eisenhüttenwerk Thale. The helmet also bears the lot number of 4054. The interior liner is well marked and the leather chin strap and harness are intact.
