Large WWII Japanese Ground Troops Aerial Identification Flag

The large flag is approximately 36 inches by 52 inches. The flag is multi piece construction with a separately sewn sun. The flag is constructed of a heavy material, much like a canvas or burlap, which was appropriate for a flag that was going to be repeatedly laid out on the ground to identify the positions of Japanese ground forces for Japanese aircraft. The flag shows the expected soiling and spots from use in the field, and the red sun has small scattered holes, but it is without tears or damage.
