$30.00

Approximately 8 inches by 10 inches. The P-5 aircraft was a model of the Curtis P-1 that was powered by a turbo-supercharged Curtiss D-12 engine. The name ‘Superhawk’ was used by the Curtiss Company, but it was never officially adopted by the company or by the Army. The serial number 27-327 was the first of the five P-5s constructed. It was assigned to the Army Materiel Division at Wright Field and was destroyed on January 26th, 1929 when the pilot, Julian B. Haddon bailed out near Carlisle, Ohio after the engine caught fire.
