Kriegsmarine Naval Officer’s Dagger by F. W. Höller

Kriegsmarine officer’s dagger in excellent condition. The off-white celluloid coating on the wood grip is excellent with no chips or cracks and the grip is tightly wrapped with twisted brass wire.  The scabbard remains straight, dent-free and retains most of its original gilt finish. The detailing remains good, however. The blade is etched with a sailing ship pattern, a hallmark of Holler production. The blade is in excellent condition with fine frosting to the etched patterns on both sides. The reverse is marked with the Höller Thermometer trademark, and the original thin leather blade buffer is in place. This dagger was brought back from the war by USN veteran Robert Beisel who was in an Amphibious Engineer unit.
