A theater made name plate for an American 8th Army Mess Sergeant. The piece is heavy and solid, weighing about 1 pound and 15 ounces, and apparently made out of a type of slate. The piece is approximately 10 inches long by 2 inches wide by 2 inches high. There is some wear to the paint and a few chips, but overall the piece is solid and impressive.
