Katana and Wakizashi Sword Cover Set With Mons Crest
A set of matching sword covers for Edo period Japanese katana and wakizashi swords. Each cover has three sections, two of which were covers for the body of the sword and one of which covered the sword handle. The covers are cloth, painted in black, with three gold stripes on the lower sections, and a gold mons on the handle covers. The stripes and the crests appear on both sides of the covers. This mons appears in references on Japanese crests as the mons used by the “Fuji” family. The covers are in very good condition for their age, being completely intact with all sections and attachment strings, and with the paint in very fine condition.
