Japanese Type 32 Army Cavalry Sword with Matching Numbers
A Type 32 cavalry saber with an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 36-1/2 inches, and with a blade length of approximately 30-1/2 inches. The matte finish blade shows spots of a film that is scattered on both sides of the blade, with a small area of rust on one side of the ricasso. The blade is smooth with no chips or cracks. The ricasso of the blade is numbered”29847″. The drag of the scabbard had a number stamped into it and then this was lined out and the number “29847” placed below it. The wooden grip shows age but it is without nicks or cracks. The steel guard shows easily cleaned light surface rust, as does the scabbard. The leather finger loop on the grip is intact, although quite worn with use.
