The bayonet was used with the Meiji 18 Murata Rifle and it has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 23 inches. The blade exhibits spots, scratches, and minor pitting from use in the field. The guard and the pommel retain much of their original finish. The wood grips have age toning as well as minor pock marks but they are without damage. The bayonet is within its original leather scabbard, which is dry and bears scuffs and flaking of the surfaces, but it is complete and intact. Overall the bayonet is in good field used condition.
