Japanese Officer Armored Vest with Dedication

An olive green segmented cotton body armor vest containing protective steel plates. Inside of the vest a pocket was created, and on the cloth used to create the pocket was embroidered in Japanese the dedication “Continued Luck in the Fortunes of War”, indicating that this protective vest was almost certainly given as a gift to an officer who was on his way to combat. The vest has perspiration stains indicative of actual use in tropical conditions, but the vest is complete, intact, and in overall very good used condition, particularly considering the fact that this was an item that would only have been worn in combat conditions.
