Japanese Navy Chief Petty Officer Blue Wool Tunic

A very clean dark blue wool uniform tunic of a Chief Petty Officer of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The tunic has a five button front with Navy buttons and two hook and eye closures at the collar. On the right sleeve is the embroidered rank displaying the insignia of a Chief Petty Officer. There is a small hole in the rank insignia between the anchor and the horizontal bars where there was once a small cherry blossom device. The tunic is nicely marked with an interior tag. The tunic could use a cleaning and pressing, but it is completely presentable, without holes or tears. It is, quite simply, a very nice example of the uniform jacket of a non-commissioned officer of Japan’s Imperial Navy.
