The blade length is approximately 12 1/2 inches long. The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 23 1/2 inches. Scabbard and grip are finely carved and incised with Japanese decorative elements and monkeys. The black dye which would highlight the carvings has now faded with time.
