Japanese Army Aviation Pilot Training Helmet

$1,450.00

A hard shell leather covered helmet used by Japanese Army pilots during their training. The front of the helmet has the Japanese Army star in leather. There are three leather straps around the circumference of the helmet for securing the flight goggles. Leather ear flaps have openings covered by leather pieces with snap closures under which headphones were worn. There is a leather chin strap that is torn on the end that runs through two metal rings to secure the helmet on the pilot. Despite the torn strap end, the strap remains long enough to be placed through the rings. There is substantial wear to the interior and exterior of the helmet which reflects extensive use in training, with the exterior brown finish being worn. On the front of the helmet can be seen several faint kanji.
