The exterior retains much of the blued finish. The upper rear of the helmet shows an area of surface rust, as does the spike base. The spike is removable. The front displays a gray Prussian wappen helmet plate, which shows age patina, and the helmet carries Prussian and national colors cockades. The chin strap is a reproduction. The interior lacks the liner.
