Imperial Prussian Grenadier EM/NCO Pickelhaube With “FWR” Wappen

The surfaces of the leather helmet show typical scuffs and age crazing, primarily to the front and rear visors, but the helmet retains a very good shape and it displays a generally fine polish. The Imperial Prussian grenadier front plate is retained with bolts through two holes in the front of the helmet. The front brass edge of the visor, the wappen front plate, the spike, the spike base, and the rear spine all show an old and uncleaned patina. The helmet displays Prussian and national colors cockades, both of which have lost most of their paint. A brass “fish scale” chin strap is present. The full leather liner is intact on the interior. The interior rear visor of the helmet bears a stamp of “2” as well as a size stamp of “55”. Overall the helmet is in good condition and it makes a fine appearance.
