Imperial Prussian 1909 Dated EM/NCO Pickelhaube with Brass Fittings and Reversible Cloth Cover
$725.00
The leather body of the helmet has typical signs of age with scratches, chips to the leather finish, and age crazing. The rear spine, front visor trim, spike and front plate are all in brass. The original leather chin strap has brass buckles. The body of the helmet has two holes in front where the front plate is secured by two strips of leather. The Prussian national cockade and the national colors cockade are both present, with the national colors cockade showing loss of paint. The leather liner is intact, with a replaced drawstring. The underside of the rear visor is stamped with the date of 1909. The cloth pickelhaube cover is reversible, with one side being field green and the other side white, with the white side apparently bearing a regimental number. The cover has three double hooks on the front edge and two double hooks on the rear edge. The double hooks allow the cover to be attached to the helmet no matter which side is worn as exterior camouflage. The cover shows signs of wear in the field, with spots and signs of use, but it is in overall very good condition.
