Imperial Kriegsmarine Korvettenkapitän Dress Frock Coat by Wilhelm Holters
$1,100.00
The frock coat is tailored in a fine quality dark blue wool and it is exceptionally clean in its condition. The sleeves carry three gold bullion tape rank stripes (the top stripe on the front of the right sleeve has lost some stitching and is somewhat loose). The shoulder have gold tape loops for placement of the dress shoulder boards. The coat carries gilt Kriegsmarine officer buttons. The upper left breast of the coat has four loops for the wear of a ribbon or medal bar. The interior of the coat shows some signs of wear and perspiration stains. The interior of the coat carries the large label of the military tailoring firm of Wilhelm Holters in Berlin (which would produce the uniforms of some of the most prominent leaders of the Third Reich, including Adolf Hitler). Next to the Holters label is the inventory stamp of the Western Costume Company in Hollywood, indicating that the coat was acquired for possible film use after World War I. The coat is in overall excellent condition, showing only light use and age.
