Imperial German Two Place Medal Bar

The medal bar carries the Bavarian Military Merit Order, Fourth Class, with Swords; and the 1914 Iron Cross, Second Class. The Bavarian Order has chips to the enamel of the lower arm on the obverse and a dark and uncleaned patina. The Iron Cross has fine, intact paint on the iron core and a dark and uncleaned patina to the silver frame. The medals are mounted with bolstered ribbons that show wear, and the medal bar has a red wool backing. Interestingly, the Iron Cross was mounted in reverse manner, so that it is the “1813” side of the cross that is towards the front.
