Imperial German Totenkopf Skull Character Stein

The half liter porcelain stein is approximately 5-3/4 inches tall, exclusive of the thumb lift. The design of the stein has the skull resting on a book, on the binding of which is the word “Commersbuch”. The sides of the book carry the phrases “Iuvenes Dum Sumus” (“We are young men”) and “Gaudeamus Igitur” (“Therefore let us rejoice”). The metal rim of the lid bears a lengthy inscription, which includes the date of 1913-1914. The stein is in near mint condition, without chips or cracks, and it makes a very impressive appearance.
