Imperial German Saxony 8th Machine Gun Battalion Enlisted Ranks Tunic

The tunic is tailored of a fine quality wool and presents in excellent condition, without stains or tracking. There are a few tiny, barely visible, holes to the rear of the upper right shoulder, the upper right back, and the rear of the upper left sleeve. The front upper left breast has a set of loops for a short ribbon bar or a single parade mounted medal. The gold bullion tape on the collar and cuffs shows age toning. Each side of the collar bears a button which displays the crest of the state of Saxony. The front of the closure has two “eye” devices, with one hook present at the top of the opposite collar and the lower hook missing. One button has come off of the front of the tunic but it remains present in the interior pocket. The interior is fully lined and shows relatively light wear. The interior bears a stamp of “P.E.M. XIX”. Overall the tunic makes a truly fine appearance.
