Imperial German Ocean Liner “S.S. Kaiserin Auguste Victoria” Stein

$225.00

The half liter pottery stein has an overall height of approximately 5 inches. The pewter lid has a dark patina, and the stein has a faint hairline crack that is visible on the lower front, beginning at the letters “S.S.”, and running onto the base of the stein. The hairline does not effect the appearance or the integrity of the stein. The S.S. Kaiserin Auguste Victoria was an ocean liner of the Hamburg America Line. It was launched in 1905 and later surrendered to Britain at the end of World War I and was chartered to the U.S. Shipping Board, which used the ship to repatriate troops from Europe. In 1921 the ship was sold to the Canadian Pacific Line and was ultimately sold for scrap in 1930.
