Imperial German M73 Artillery Sword Dated 1898

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 36 inches, with a blade length of approximately 30 inches. The blade is generally bright, with scattered spots but without nicks, chips, or active rust. The leather covered grip shows typical age. The guard, pommel, and scabbard all exhibit a dark patina and scattered light surface rust. The spine of the blade bears the mark of a crown and “W” over an “98”, while the reverse guard and the reverse scabbard throat bear letter and numeric marks.
