Imperial German Landwehr Officer Feldgrau Visor Cap

The cap is constructed of a field gray wool top with black velvet cap band, both piped in red. The field gray top shows scattered small holes and spots. Both the top and the piping show some degree of fading. The surface of the visor shows fine age crazing. The front peak exhibits a national colors cockade, while the cap band has a cockade containing the Landwehr cross which bears the motto “F. Koenig u. Vaterl.” (the abbreviated version of “Fur Koenig und Vaterland”, or “For King and Country”).  The interior leather sweatband is stained from wear but it is intact. The interior lining shows separations. Overall the cap makes a quite good appearance.
