Imperial German KPM Porcelain Bust of Otto Von Bismarck

$425.00

The bust was produced by the prestigious KPM firm, being the “Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin”, or “Royal Porcelain Factory in Berlin”. The porcelain bust has an overall height of approximately 7 1/2 inches. The bust is executed in white bisque with a base finished in a royal blue gloss with gilt highlights. The interior of the base bears the blue scepter mark that was used by KPM porcelain beginning in 1763, together with the red royal orb and “KPM” mark that was used beginning in 1832. While Von Bismarck was Chancellor of the newly united Germany in the 19th century,he was often portrayed, as here, in the military uniform as an Army General. The bust shows some surface dirt but it is in near mint condition, and without chips or cracks.
