Imperial German Hessian Line Infantry Regiment Officer’s Field Gray Visor Cap

The ribbed field gray body of the cap is very clean, showing some mild tracking on the top surface but without stains or holes. The red wool cap band is similarly clean. The front peak displays an officer cockade in the national colors, while the cap band cockade exhibits the Hessian state colors. The interior of the cap shows only minimal wear. The lining bears the name and address of the Darmstadt retailer Georg Raab as well as a gilt letter “B”. Both the lining and the leather sweatband are in very fine condition. The surface of the leather visor shows virtually no crazing.  The hat overall makes an excellent appearance.
